This is a very special neighbourhood, full with history and very quiet during the day, but it also have a great variety of taverns and a rich night life, specially in Huertas Street.
Chueca is multicultural it has a great atmosphere, very original little shops, beautiful restaurants… A walk through Fuencarral street it’s always interesting. Also, if you are looking for gay friendly restaurants and accommodation this is your neighbourhood.
The heart of the old Madrid, here you will find narrow streets and small inns and apartments. It’s close to the Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol. The Cava Baja street has a great night-life and many tapas restaurants.
